A DAILY SUPPORT FOR
A SERENE LIFE

EVERY DAY IN ORDER TO LIVE

For patients undergoing continuous therapy, even the easiest everyday tasks can become difficult. These are solutions that help you to continue to live your life and fortunately, today they are increasingly accessible to patients in terms of effectiveness and ease of use. However, one has to learn to live with them and use them correctly. Emodial knows this and has chosen to support patients in managing their therapy.

DIARY OF OUR PATIENTS

SERENA’S STORY

«“Thanks to dialysis I have my life, my family and time ahead of me”». This is how Serena’s story began, a young woman, a mother, who was diagnosed with immunological glomerulonephritis: her immune system no-longer recognizes her kidneys and tries to reject them.

EVERYDAY LIFE

CATHER PATIENTS AND WATER

Those undergoing continuous treatment through a catheter know that one of the main problems is not to wet the insertion site. For example, one of the most frequent questions that patients ask is: “Can I have a shower with the catheter?”.
The idea of providing greater patient comfort is gaining ground, supplying simple devices designed for this type of application, such as the adhesive and waterproof POCKET WP, which was created by Emodial specifically for catheters.

HOME DIALYSIS: HOW DOES IT WORK?

Being able to do dialysis at home is an added incentive that helps chronic patients recover. Home therapy however, is not always feasible. In the case of dialysis, it depends on a combination of factors: the lifestyle and autonomy of the patient, his housing situation, the emotional and psychological impact that the illness and treatment have both on the patient and on the caregiver, i.e. the family member, the caregiver or the helper who assists him.

CRITICAL ISSUES RELATED TO THE EXIT-SITE AND THE RISK OF CVC INFECTION

Whether it is home therapy or hospital therapy, the exit-site always poses a risk of infection and subsequent complications, which in some cases can be very severe and seriously compromise the health of the patient. Some precautions have to be taken in order to prevent infections and keep the area protected and monitored at all times
